Don't always trust Auto Zone Oreilly's Napa etc...for testing your electrical equipment...remember they are in the business of SELLING parts...whether you need them or not.

\012Best thing to do here is use a multimeter and check the 12v DC output at the positive battery terminal with the engine running at idle. You should be getting 14.5v DC at all times with the engine running.

\012Also, check the battery negative and positive connections for corrosion. Many times a corroded terminal is at fault for not allowing full amperage/.voltage back to the battery when the engine is running
Some alternators can be tricky. It may be putting out amperage to keep the system going but not enough to keep up with all the electronics. It may not handle a load. Take it to a place that offers free testing such as Autozone or Advance auto parts. They can check it for you and maybe give you a general idea if it's ok or needs replacement. Make sure the loads are on such as wipers, blower, lights and radio to ensure a better reading. Hope this helps. Good luck.
