Having problems with your 2004 Chevrolet Suburban ?

Will not start when cold

\015 Ocasionally, the surburban will not start when cold. Once started it starts fine the rest of the day. Starter spins engine it seems faster than usual. Could this be a module in the electronic spark system? I had this happen once in another chevy vehicle. The starter would spin the engine faster than normally required to start it. Currently it will not fire at all.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 09-12-2019

Answers :

I have a mechanic on stand-by to replace the fuel pump. He told me I might be able to get the suburban started by using a rubber hammer on the fuel tank while another person engages the starter. He said sometimes this might break loose the brushes and start the fuel pump going again. I thought this would be worth a try and wanted to let other folks know about this temporary method of getting the car going again. Might save a wrecker bill. Thanks.
