Having problems with your 2004 Chrysler 300 ?

2004 300M overheating problem

\015 We have changed the thermostat and it is still overheating. We took it\015\012 to the dealership and they put it on the computer and told us it showed\015\012 no problems. Advised us that we probably got a bad thermostat or put it\015\012 in backwards. We got another thermostat and put it in, and are still\015\012 having the same problem. The fans are working, the tank is full of\015\012 coolant, and we cannot find the problem. Any suggestions?\015\012\015\012--\015\012 sheryl\015\012Same problems. Did you bleed the air out of the system after changing the T-Stat as per factory cooling system service recommendations? Do the fans run almost all the time? To bleed the air use this alternate method, raise the front of the car as high as possible with a floor jack, fill the reservoir all the way full, run the engine for about 15 minutes at high idle, shut it down and let it sit until cool, recheck the tank to make sure it is full, if this is an air block then this will cure it, if it is not then it may be either a flow problem or a leaking head gasket. Also check to see if the coolant is dark or rusty looking, if it is the head gasket is blown. \015\012FixYa.com claims they have factory repair manuals, they have nothing of the sort, this is not to say some experts may have manuals, we do, but we work from home and in most cases have a small library. Experts are not employed by FixYa.com, we help free of charge as much as we can with the general automotive knowledge we have learned while working as auto technicians, specific test values, repair procedures and illustrations are unique to each car line, these are not in most cases available to us.
