Having problems with your 2004 Chrysler Sebring ?

Knocking sound from motor

\015 I bought a used 2004 sebring 2.4 liter single cam, in december of 2007 with 30,000 miles now I have 49,000 miles. I work 43 miles away from one way, and carpool, so 2 weeks out of the month I drive my carr. Just recently I noticed this ticking/knocking sound in my motor. I notice it more when my car is warmed up and idleing, I thought it might be my valves, but when I tried to have them adjusted I noticed they are not like the regular torque they are pin rods and spring like things. Could I be wrong? I'm afraid something is going to happen,\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 15-07-2019

Answers :

Well there could be several causes for the ping and knock. first can you tell me if you have rough starts? constant idle changes? when was the last time you had a tune up. does the check engine light come onintermitantly?do you have a slow response at the throttle?when is the last time you changed the oil and filter? thses questions will help me pinpoint the problem and help you with a more detailed solution
Sorry no adjustment, try an oil change with mobile 1 5-30 you may just have a collapsed lifter from letting it sit -jeff please rate
