Starter continues to run, after starting and even when keys are removed

Can be 2 thingfs, firstly the solinoid sounds like it is shot so most likely you will have to replace it, this is just one part of the starter motor and can often be reconditioned to save you a few $$$, I would however try and get to the starter ensure no wires are arking out on anything and that the connections to the starter are good, spray with wd-40 and hit it a few times with a hammer, if the problem persists after this then it will need a new selinoid.

th other possibility is the ignituion switch where you put the key in, internally then can jam up thus not releasing the power that is sent to the starter motor, again wd-40 sprayed into the ignition barrel would normally free this up. I would certainly try these before spending any money.
