Having problems with your 2004 Ford F150 ?

My F150 (2002) WITH A 4.6 has a vibration when at idle and in drive. The vibration goes away when you shift into nuetral. The truck has 225000 km on it. ????????. Please offer some possible causes. Thanks Darren

225000 miles.. sounds like it has been a good vehicle. The first thing that comes to mind is that the fins inside of the torque converter may just plain be worn excessively. You said that when you shifted to neutral it ceased. Neutral... no torque demand. If it does it in FWD and REVERSE then I am thinking it very well can be a torque converter problem. I would suggest try changing the spark plugs and the spark plug wires and also check your airfilter,change if dirty.
