Having problems with your 2004 Ford Ranger ?

My 2004 manual transm Ranger sometimes stalls while driving, and will not start unless I press the fuel pump reset button, sometimes called "enertia" switch. I do not get any check engine lights when this happens. The fuel pump and filter, check good. Could it be an enertia switch going bad or is there something else in the system that can cause it to trigger?

Answers :

The inertia switch is only supposed to trip in the event of impact, so unless you are off roading or otherwise jolting the vehicle - the switch may be failing.....
