Having problems with your 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee ?

My jeep grand cherokee will start..and if sitting in idle position..i'll press the gas and car shuts down..what could be the problem

You have a problem with air flow meter ,as the air flow increases its not telling the ECU to allow more petrol into the engine .That assuming you are using petrol and not a propane gas conversion .Made that mistake before now as well ,but the guy didnt state he had a gas conversion fitted
You have to first check the car for faults codes (You can rent a fault code reader from autozone) if there are no fault codes, you may have a plugged fuel filter.
