Hello there,

This is an FYI and not a solution to your problem. I present this as a supplement to any info you might receive to help you make the right decisions. As such please do not rate it, thank you.

I would point out that even seasoned mechanics with years of experience still consider those that work on automatic transmissions to be practitioners of the Dark Arts.

The prerequisite skills necessary for working on an A/T (and ending up with an A/T that is working) are demanding and difficult.

Unless you are an experienced, and I mean EXPERIENCED, mechanic, I would advise against working on the internal components of an A/T.

You should also be aware that you are requesting the instruction on the mechanical equivalent of a surgery from the free section on a site that guarantees your satisfaction or your money back. That does not guarantee you will get good info, just that if you act on it, and are displeased, you will get your money back. Follow me?

If you are fully aware of what you are getting into, the risk that inexperienced handling of certain aspects of the procedure will render an A/T into scrap metal, at least you are going in with your eyes open.

Your first step should be to repost your request confirming make, model, year, engine size, transmission type and VIN#.

In addition, you may want a second opinion on the symptoms that led to the diagnostic conclusion of band adjustment.

Best regards
