Having problems with your 2004 Kia Rio ?

How hard is it to change the front wheel bearing and how much should this cost

Answers :

Since the wheel bearing is a "press-in-style", it is significantly hard to do if you are doing it in your garage without the proper tools. However, if you have a hydraulic press and an air hammer, you may be able to do it, although it is difficult. Since a press in is actually just a bearing, it should be less than $80 for the part. However, a shop may charge up to two hours labour to remove it.\015\012
\015\012If by chance you have a bolt in assembly and can change the whole hub, it is very easy since three bolts actually hold the hub in. A bolt in assembly will cost you more however since it requires the whole hub; it should cost around $120 for a low end one to $300 for a higher quality one. I would not recommend getting the low end aftermarket version since they tend to not last very long. On the plus side a shop will only charge up to an hours labour to remove this style wheel bearing.
