What kind of fuel are you using? \015\012
\015\012I had this problem when I decided it would be okay to use anything other than premium.\015\012
\015\012It is not.\015\012
\015\012Make sure to ONLY use premium.
I'm assuming this is a petrol car, and you can ignore the comments on fuel detergents if it's a diesel...because I know very little about diesel fuel characteristics.
\015\012It sounds as if one of the two fuel senders is stuck at its lowest level while the other one is operating OK. The sender windings can get coated in crud after quite a few years, particularly from fuels with low levels of detergents in them. That insulates the windings from the movable scraper that sends the voltage to the gauge, and leads to no readings or various stages of wrong readings.
\015\012Gently cleaning both units with carb cleaner should cure the problem. . The side with the petrol feed is a bit tricky and maybe the scraper in one of your senders got bent and stuck.
