Having problems with your 2004 Nissan Maxima ?

Hi, after 7 years- 130k miles, would it be likely that my 2004 maxima needs a starter. It takes 3 tries to turn over. The battery checked out fine and the cables/connectors were cleaned. once it starts i don't notice any problems?

Answers :

Yes it sounds like the starter needs a recon.
\015\012The brushes can wear
\015\012The armiture bushes can wear.
\015\012The soleniod contacts can burn
\015\012The drive can wear
\015\012Any of these can cause the problem whereby you need to hit the key a few times for it to work.
\015\012There is a small possibility the contacts in the ignition switch are dirty or worn as well.
