Having problems with your 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix ?

I have a 2004 pontiac grand prix gt and the check engine light comes on and off, it might stay on for a week then when I start it and it will be off for a day or so. I had it checked and it said its the coolent. Also I am burning a lot of oil just put a whole quart in less than a month ago but I also drive to work 40 miles a day there and back. Is the amount of oil its burning normal and will the engine light have anything to do with the amount of oil its burning

Answers :

The oil sensors tell you lots of things so yes it could be because you're burning up the oil. i would try putting in a bottle of Lucas it is thick and it should help you burn less oil. it is a full quart so don't over fill.
