Toyota Prius 2008 - Transmission or or fluid?

\015 How often should transmission oil or fluid be changed\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 15-10-2018

Answers :

Here is the answer that you are looking for: Never.
\015\012The auto trans fluid in a Prius is what we call "World Spec", and never needs to be changed. Why? Because the Prius trans fluid is not used for hydraulic pressure or cooling the ATF fluid due to the lack of the aforementioned hydraulic pressure. All that the ATF does is perform a "lubrication" function. As long as there is no contamination of the fluid (such as being in a flood), do not bother with it.

Toyota Ed just wants some business when the trans goes out, recommended transmission fluid change at 100k then 50 k thereafter. I changed my fluid at 110,000 miles and the fluid was almost black. To assume the fluid does not experience wear in that transmission is ridiculous. Go to priuschat.com for all the info you need.
