Having problems with your 2004 Volvo S60 ?

Engine air filter cover doesnt want to snap back on

\015 Dear old dad replaced my air filter, and somehow he didnt notice that only two of the three snaps were shut on the cover. I have been driving it for awhile since and only noticed yesterday! (d'oh). I cant seem to get the first slanted prong on the back side of it into the slot, only the two straight prongs want to slide back into their shut and sealed positions. Is there some trick to getting it to fully shut??? and to add to the problems now 'engine service required' comes on in the dash info box. Grr, last time I took it in for a sensor issue it turned into a $100 car wash because they found nothing wrong!\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 18-06-2018

Answers :

Remove the filter and either clean it with water and let it dry completely before installing. Or buy a new filter. Place it so that it fits firmly down at the botom. the try to clip on the cover snapping the hard clip down first. then the opposite side. then snap on the others. it may have bent a little. If it fits loose. try bending it into shape .
