Having problems with your 2005 Audi A4 ?

A4 convertible drivers seat.

\015 The drivers seat on my 2005 a4 convertible will not slide forward when operated by the lever that releases the seat back to allow access to the rear seats. the passenger seat seems to have a cable that when the seat back is folded forward it releases the seat to enable it to slide forward and then return to its original position, although the drivers seat seems to have the same mechanism when the back folds forward it doesnt release to allow it to slide. i think the cable may have broken or become diconnected and it looks like i need to remove the panel on the rear of the seat, but i cant see how to remove it. any ideas? or any ideas on what else may be the problem. THANKS.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 27-09-2021

Answers :

I have had the exact same problem , the actaual cause of the seat not sliding back is due to the small cable retaing clip which fastens at the underneath of the seat this is a very common problem and is very trickY to get to as you say the rear panel appers to need to come off , it does not, you axs the small clip from removeing the liners at the very bottom of the seat where there is a footwell light , when you axs this area you be able to get to the clip or the actaul cable ,to which ever is broken,,
