Given the age of your car, and you didn't state if it's a wrrrring noise or thumping noise(tire if speed related). test by driving at hiway speeds while listening to noise, veer to the right then to the left to see if noise is louder one way more then the other Note: before doing this make sure NO other cars are behind or in front or on either side of you. If noise is more pronounced by turning one way, chance are you more than likely need a "wheel bearing hub assembly". Have a mechanic verify before replacing, and DO NOT buy the 'cheapest bearing', or you'll replace it again in a year. part is around $115 at O'rielly's, most mechanics want $2-$400. labor to replace. I did my own, easy if ya got a hoist and right tools.
