Having problems with your 2005 Chrysler 300 ?

Chrysler300c2005/rke my rkedoes not work do i change the battery. will that fix it or do i have to go to a dealer ?

You can try replacing the battery - it's a standard CR2032 battery about the size of a nickel, available for a few bucks almost anywhere that sells batteries. You'll need a small Phillips screwdriver to remove one screw, and a strong thumbnail or other prying device to pop the unit open. It shouldn't require much force; if it does, you're probably doing something wrong.

If you replace the battery and still have the same problem, then your key fob may be defective. This is a fairly widespread problem with these key fobs - the clip that holds the battery becomes detached. If you are handy with a soldering iron, this is a simple fix; if you are not, don't experiment on this unit! Find a friend who is.

If all else fails, the dealer ought to be able to order you a new one, although it will likely cost you a pretty penny and then some.
