The engine warning light is a lot more sensitive then people think. It can be set off with as little as leaving the gas cap off or loose. If your engine light is flashing then this is a bad thing, if it just stays on all the time then it is probably realted to emissions such as an o2 sensor, map sensor, etc. You have a couple of options you can go to a Auto parts store like Auto Zone or Advanced Auto Parts and they will pull the code out of your cars computer for free and tell you what the code means or, you can reset this code yourself by disconnecting the negative side of your cars battery, must be the negative side, for at least 5 minutes then reconnect. This will clear the code and the engine light will go off. The light may come back on shortly after doing so. If it does not then one of the sensors probably picked up some trash on it making the check engine light come on. Good Luck and I hope this was helpful info.
Drive it over to auto zone or advance auto partsthey will pull the codes for free then you will know what you have to do.hope this helps you.
