\012Leaking \012component: any of the parts listed above or one of the A/C lines, \012hoses or seals. Most A/C repairs are best left to a\012 specialist repairer or \012garage. Recharging the refrigerant, in particular, requires special \012equipment \012that most people don't own. There are a couple things you can do, \012however.
\012First, make sure to have the system checked regularly according to your \012vehicle's owner's manual - in the Scorpios case that's every 10,000 \012miles.
\012Second, if you live in a place with a cold climate, it might not make \012much sense \012to run the A/C during the winter months, but many A/C technicians \012recommend \012running your A/C system regularly, because it contains a light mineral \012oil in \012the refrigerant to keep the compressor properly lubricated. The general \012rule of \012thumb is 10 minutes per month. The Scorpio heating, ventilation and air \012conditioning systems also engage the A/C compressor when the \012distribution \012control is in defrost mode.
