Having problems with your 2005 Honda Element ?

My element is making a noise from the rear. Looking underneath it there seems to be a part that is loose. The part is about 10 inches long, runs from the front to the back of the car, is the shape of a sausage, each end sits in a round ring... i just don't know how else to explain the part

Answers :

It sounds like you are talking about the driveshaft. you should tighten the bolts on both ends. also make sure you change the fluid in your rear dif because that is known to give off a growling type of noise.
It is either a shock absorber or a stabilizer. Find out why it is loose and fix.
