Having problems with your 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe ?

Car wont start after I fill the tank

\015 I have a 2000 Hyundai Sonata and it wont start right away. I have to wait a few minutes or pump the gas petal to get the engine running. This only happens right after i add gas to my tank, never any other time.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 18-03-2019

I have seen this many times on Sonatas. The problem is likely to be your cars Purge Control Valve sticking open and allowing fuel vapor to be pushed into the engine while filling the car with gas. This valve is mounted near the intake manifold and has a vacuum line to the manifold and another that routes under the car to the vapor canister.
Yeah, mine was doing the same thing. my mechanic thought he fixed it with a new coil pack, but it started up again. So upon further inspection...and $400 later, it runs like new and doesnt stall at the pump anymore!
