Having problems with your 2005 Renault 181 ?
Injection fault light comes on.
\015 The injection light comes on and the stop light with it. This happened a few times now it won't start in the morning. Once the car starts it seems to be okay as it is warmed up. i also noticed when you are driving, when you accelerate harder this is when the injection light comes on.\015
All 1.5dci engines (Renault, Nissan and Dacia) use Delphi (formerly Lucas) fuel pumps and injectors. The fuel pump is very sensitive to the quality of the diesel you use. Once the fuel pump is internally damaged, it is only a matter of time before fine metal dust gets into the entire injection system and then the repair is very expensive (Renault then recommends changing the pump, the pipes, the injectors and even the fuel tank). If you act early on (before the car breaks down), you may be able to get away with replacing the the pump, the injectors and the fuel filter (if no traces of the metal dust are visible in the system). To prevent this from happenning you need to use quality diesel (with low sulphur content), diesel additives (I use STP or Castrol) and change oil and oil filter at least every 15,000 km/12months, despite the fact that Renault (under pressure from competition) has introduced 30,000km/24months service intervals (some nissans use the same engine and due to a shorter service interval seem to have much less problems with fuel pumps).
I would advise you take to a garage to have fault codes read. this could be a number of things. eg mass air flow meter, to catalytic converter. The best way to sort this is by interrogating the engines ECU.
