Having problems with your 2006 Chevrolet Equinox ?

Fog in vents

\015 I have a 2006 Chevy Equinox. Late last year fog started to come out of the vents and then soon air started to get warmer, was still under warranty so i took it to a dealer, they said drain line was clogged and cleaned it. Now less than a year later same problem is happening, any ideas?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 20-05-2019

Answers :

You have a leak in the heater core or water build up as the dealer described to you. If it smells like anti freeze it is the heater core. If not pour a bottle of peroxide through the evaporator box which is the fiberglass housing mounted on the right side of the firewall. That has the blower motor attached to it as well. You will need to drill a small opening at one corner which will be safe to do and place a funnel in the hole drilled to add the peroxide into this housing. It will clear out all foriegn matter in the drain tube to eliminate this problem. After the peroxide sits inside this housing for 5 minutes pour one gallon of water to flushout the remaining peroxide and check if it drained thoroughly. If not repeat this process again
