Having problems with your 2006 Chevrolet HHR ?
Power steering keeps going out on 2006 hhr
\015 My son bought this car from a private owner. He has had it for 9 months. $8,000 is still owed on it and today he paid for a diagnostics test from the dealer. After a $400 part and a $200 part and labor totaling $1400. to get it back on the road. Anything else he can do to make sure he really needs to dish out all that money?\015

What parts were stated that needed replacement? If an estimate was given, it should state this info on the estimate. Dealerships usually get approx. $95 - $125 an hour just for labor costs, and if a job takes several hours to perform, this can get quite expensive especially when parts are fit into the total bill. I'm also assuming there was not a transferable warranty. You can take it to a private garage for a second opinion also.
