Having problems with your 2006 Ford Freestar ?

Warning bell won't stop sounding

\015 My warning bell keeps sounding because of a false door open indicator lights. how can I solve this problem OR stop the the warning bell sound?\015\012\015\012I am having a similiar problem with my 2000 ford windstar. But it only happens when I step on the brakes. It seems like everytime i have to come to a stop the door light flashes and chimes like crazy also the door locks start going crazy. There are no doors open and I can't figure out what the problem is. If someone could help me I would really appreciate it. \015\012\015\012jgw,WHERE ARE THE DOOR SENSORS LOCATED? I looked around and could not see them.My "Door Ajar" RED Warning Lite stays "ON" with ALL DOORS CLOSED andIgnition Switch "ON" on my 2006 Freestar. It beeps for about 1-minuteand comes back beeping after every brake pedal activation. Also, thedriver side door always automatically UNLOCKS after I lock it. This isan intermittent problem which started when the weather was cold but ishappening more and more now even above 70-degreesF.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 21-01-2019

I went thru a considerable amount of relays in my windstar. I would suggest stopping by a junk/recycling/wrecking yard and picking up a handfull of relays for the windstar/freestar. look under the dash in the fuse panel for the relays and replace any in the circuits affected. if you are in luck the relay circuits will be shown on the cover of the fuse panel.
\015\012if the problem is the sliding door... there are a row of circular copper contact points on the door jam as it slides shut as well as "fingers" on the door that make contact with them when you close the door. Use an eraser or similar to make sure the contacts are clean.
\015\012Do not overlook the relays in the engine compartment near the battery as a cause for some of the issues you are having.
\015\012as a side note... i dropped into my local ford dealer and talked nicely to the parts guy.... he gave me a print out of all the fuses/relays and their locations which was a huge help. give that a try.
\015\012let me know how you made out.... and take a moment if this was a successful fix to rate this solution.. thanks
\015\012P.S. i was able to manage almost 400,000 kms from my windstar before i sold it. and the only issue it had then was that it would not stay running (a fairly easy fix)
