Check Gas Cap warning light

\015 I have a 2006 Honda Odyssey and a warning message of "check gas cap" came on. When I read the manual and follow the trouble shoothing to clear the error, nothing works. I've put more gas in, re-tightened up the cap until I hear the click noise. I've also tried to manually clear the code by pushing the button just like the manual says. I still have the error. I also read in the manual that sometimes it can take 3 days before the error will clear on it's own, but it's been 4 days and it is still giving me the error.\015\012Any suggestions?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 18-02-2019

Answers :

Replace the cap - it's only about 10 bucks at AutoZone. They told me the same thing about taking time to clear. I disconnected my battery for 10 minutes and it went off. Make sure you have the radio code as it will need to be reset after disconnecting the battery. It should have come with the car but the dealer can provide it.
