Having problems with your 2006 Kia Sedona ?

Engine light comes on. Scanner read engine overheating. Replaced the thermostate. Engine light periodically comes on and it will go out on it's own. Took to garage and mechanic said the coolant hose/line wasn't hot. Could this be a sensor or something shorting out? Any suggestions would be welcome. Is this a common problem with this model and year? Van has around 78,000 miles and is due this month for a PA inspection. Won't pass inspection with engine light on.

It may be a coolant temp sensor. Have you made sure it is not leaking coolant and your fans are working? Radiator?
