Having problems with your 2006 Mitsubishi Colt ?

Service Engine Soon

\015 I bought car 7 years ago brand new and never experinced any problems. However, less than a year ago the "Service Engine" light came on (and stayed on for a few days) then turned off. This tends to happen sporatically. Car never cuts out, lags, etc. Any ideas as to why this particualr light comes on? I have noticed the rpm clock not work like it should when I'm driving vehcile with service engine light is on.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 22-04-2019

With no noticeable change in performance, chances are that the problem is a failing oxygen sensor - which will affect pollution output and possibly cause your car to fail its next safety inspection, and the tach failure indicates a possible cam sensor failure. The only way to tell for certain though is to have the car's computer scanned. Your mechanic can do this (for a price), and many parts stores will run a limited scan at no cost (in the hope of selling you something).

You can have the code checked when its on, but check the fuel cap for integrity
