Having problems with your 2006 Toyota Fortuner 3,0 ?

3.0 D4D overheating

\015 I recently had the timing belt and water pump replaced and ever since the engine has been overheating when under load. I tow a boat and have to be very watchful of the heat gauge. when driving hard in hot conditions it also occurs. under normal conditions it is ok. The water pump fitted is not an original I don't know if this could be a problem. I had the radiator and head gasket pressure tested, no problem. I am not loosing any water. The worst part is that the aircon shuts down when the motor strains and this is not pleasant. any suggestions would be welcome.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 12-04-2021

Answers :

Check between the Air con condensor & radiator for grass etc... (restriction of air flow) if no restriction remove the thermostat & replace. If there is grass do not try to remove with water you will need to remove the radiator & pick it out bit by bit or use soft brush (dustpan brush) & compressed air or soft (not to hot) flame & burn to ash then blow with air. ALWAYS Blow from engine side & remove from other side so you don't force it further in. (This can take hours but is quite a common problem)
