Having problems with your 2007 BMW 530xi Sports Wagon ?

2006 BMW 530Xi Cannot open rear door

\015 My 2006 530Xi rear door won't open. It's not fully locked either. How does one fix this? Do you need to climb in the back? If so then what? I've tried the key, the button on the driver's door jamb, everthing.- with no luck. I bought the wagon used (<20K miles) and it had been returned to the dealer under California's Lemon Law for this same problem. The door worked one day and, suddenly, not the next. At first it wouldn't lock but now it won't open. How can you take the door apart to get to the lock if it's not open?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 30-11-2020

Hi there.

You need to climb inside the car toward the back door, removing the rear sits and accessing the latch.

On the latch you unlock the U shaped part with a screwdriver and open the door.

If the door gets stuck again, try first lubricating and then replacing the door latch, check also wirings to the door lock.

I have done the same in my VW passat Vagon years ago.

Let me know if you fixed the problem.

This is a wagon correct? you have an emergency release cable on it as in this pic.56df29c.jpg\015\012
\015\012#1 is the release. You should be able to get to this without removing panel somehow.I dont work on a lot of bmw so not sure but might can pull back panel a little to get to it? look in owners manual and see if it tells you how
