Having problems with your 2007 Chevrolet Uplander ?

Adding a Radio

\015 I will be adding a ham radio to my 2007 Uplander. This vehicle does not have power operated sliding doors, but I notice that there are fuses installed for those circuits. Where would I tap into one of those circuits to use the power that normally would be for the sliding doors? Or if there is a better place to connect to power for the radio, where would it be?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 15-07-2019

I dont think these guy understand what your looking for.
you just need a good stable power source for you ham radio.
just give me a second and i look in my books and find a wiring diagram that will work for you

If I may offer an alternative..
do not use any of the existing wiring. Often they pass several connectors which could introduce low resistance and greatly affect the noise canceling feature and the TX power of the ham radio. Instead, I would suggest wiring the red and black wire directly to the battery terminals (observing polarity). Additionally, I would suggest adding a grounding strap from the chassis/body of the radio to the nearest exposed metal chassis/body of the vehicle.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
