2008 Escape cd4e transmission band problem

\015 CD4E Transmission trouble:\012\012A month ago I started having shifting problems and after two days a light on the dash came on. I took it to my dealer 2 miles from my house and left it with them on a Sunday. They called me back the next day and said that there was a band problem and the part 6L8Z-7D034-A was back ordered from Ford. The Service rep said he would look around to see if anyone had the part, but otherwise it would be in by August 8. \012\012A week later I called the Service rep and he said he had a dealer in the state and would get it by the next week. I didn't hear anything from him and I called him back the next week and he said that the dealer had the part but did not want to give it up because it was back ordered. He said that he was still waiting for the part from Ford and it would be in by August 8. \012\012The service rep at the dealer also said he found one on the east coast and it would be in later that week or early the next week. \012I went back to the dealer on August 10 to pickup my Escape, but the service rep said the part had not come because of the same issue that the dealer did not want to give up the back ordered part. At this time he said he did not know when the part would be in and to just keep checking back with him to see where the part process was at the time. \012\012I was not happy that I had to be the one calling or coming by to check the status of the repair, never hearing from the dealer. I asked for the Ford customer service hot line and they gave it to me on Friday afternoon August 10 at 4:30pm. \012\012The Ford customer service agent said that the part was on the way and it should have been there that day. I told them it was 5pm and the part hadn't shown up yet.\012\012On early Monday August 13, I got a voice mail message from the dealer's service department and they got an email form Ford that now said that the part might be shipped August 15 or August 17. This would put the part to the dealer on August 20, maybe. They have had my Ford Escape for over 3 weeks and probably longer. If the part comes in after August 20, they will have my car for over a month. \012\012If you have this type of transmission, let me know if you have had this problem and how it was finally fixed. To me, a dealer should not have a vehicle for over a month because they don't have a part for a 2008 Escape. Thanks for any help.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 14-01-2019

Having the exact same situation with my 2008 Ford Escape. The dealership garage had mine for 23 days because it took so long to get the part. 3 days after getting the vehicle back it broke again. The garage this time is saying I should wait till October 15th because they are releasing a newly designed transmission band that should take care of this. Today is September 26th. This problem has cost me $1900.
