Having problems with your 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis ?

Grand Marquis 2008 model. All of a sudden , the engine shaked and went off. I checked the fuse box in the engine compartment and found fuse # 4 ,20 amp. ( fuel relay feed) blown. I put a new one and reset the fuel pump shut-off switch. I tried to start but failed, it's crancking but couldn't start. I appreciate if I can get any assistance .

Hello! The first concern is why did fuse #4 blow? If you have a voltmeter...Set it to read +12 volts...There is a two wire connector on the Fuel pump shut-off (aka inertia switch)..wire colors are...Red/Black...And White...Put the + meter probe on the White wire...And the - probe on bare metal chassis ground...Crank the engine for as little time as possible to get a reading on the meter...Must read +12 volts...This is a starting point...Fuse #4 feeds power to the Fuel Pump Module on the White wire, via the switch...I suspect the inertia switch wiring is touching ground...the White wire is the power feed to the Fuel Pump Driver Module...send results...
