Having problems with your 2008 Mercury Mariner ?
2008 Mercury Mariner rear axle is leaking. Is there a possibility I can just tighten it down or will it require me to replace it?
\015 While under my mariner fixing the exhaust I noticed a leak coming from the rear. It seems to be just on the passenger side but someone looked at it and said it was the "Rear Pumpkin Seal" needs to be replaced. Could this actually be it and if so can it be tightened down to see if it stops the leak or should it just be entirely replaced?\015
Answers :
You have to loosen the rear suspension on that side
Remove the axle nut & pull the knuckle clear of the axle
Then remove the axle on the side that leaks
Change the seal & replace axle, etc.
