VW Golf Mk4 Crankshaft sensor - Should it be in contact with engine oil?

\015 Hi all, \012I am in the process of changing the crankshaft sensor, however when i removed the old one i noticed it was wet with engine oil. Is this sensor normally in contact with the engine's oil? \012I am hesitant to install the new one if it shouldn't be in contact with the oil. \012\012Any help is much appreciated.\012\012Tony\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 21-01-2019
