How to install timing belt on 1993 toyota camry 4 cylinder

\015 Got into the timing belt.Have the old timing belt of.. because it was worn out and loose on the camshaft gear.Don't know if i can turn the camshaft manually 1 revolution without the belt being on the gears..because when looking at the old timing belt being on there, the belt was loose, wasn't torn or broke was just worn out....thinking the guy i bought the car from did't set the timing or tighten the belt good enough..just want to know if i can turn the camshaft with the timing marks manually without the timing belt being on it.or do i have to turn cam and crank together with the belt on to set my timing...but if i do that with the belt on wouldn't one of my timing be off......just got confused from that ...\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 18-06-2018

Answers :

1993 Toyota 2.2 you have valve clearance, meaning if you broke the belt driving you just broke a belt and NO VALVE DAMAGE. On the cam gear line that dot on top with the mark at the top if the cylinder head it a little dipple. As for the crank just line up the dots. There is nothing confusing turn one at a time or both at a time.
