Having problems with your Cars & Trucks ?
My 1999 Mazda miada brake lights will not go on light bulbs and fuses are good
In most cases you are looking at a faulty brake light switch. I don't have a diagram or picture of its exact location but if you look up the shaft of the brake pedal, you should be able to see it. Below is a picture of the one for your vehicle if you do not have cruise control. If you do have cruise control it will look a little different but basically the same. If you have a test light you can check by going into the back of the connector where the wire goes in. You should have power at all time at the white & green wire and if you press the brake down and the "buttton/switch opens up you should have power coming out of the other wire which I believe is green. If you have power going in but no power going out when the brake is pressed then you are looking at a faulty brake light switch. The one for your vehicle is under 20 dollars and if you are mechanically inclinde, you should be able to replace it easy. If you have no power at all then you are looking at a power supply problem which would be in the wiring. Hope this helps you....
