Having problems with your Cars & Trucks ?

2000 VW New Beetle GLX 1.8 Turbo 4 speed Automatic, drags on take off.

\015 The engine was just gone through before i got it, new timing belt, water pump etc, the idiots broke the upper timing cover but that is another story lol.\012it kind of drags taking off no matter what gear you start off in except reverse is fast, if you take off easy and then give more gas it picks up better, you really don't feel it shift but then again it is a very quiet car.\012if i am going along and downshift to first it actually chirps the tires and slows down so i know the clutches are strong, you can feel it catch when you put it in 1st when sitting still but still drags when you go to take off. on the highway it is a bullet, hit the turbo and it picks up very fast, runs at 4 grand on the tach at 70MPH but i think that is normal for a performance transmission. it this a valve body issue? or is it possible i just need to do a fluid and filter change.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 10-12-2018
