Having problems with your Cars & Trucks ?

94 3.4 v6 camaro running rough

\015 I bought a 94 Camaro not too long ago. it was running rough when I bought it, thought it might be an easy fix. I got it cheap. Anyways, when I first start the car, it seems to idle ok. When i try to rev it up, it sputters and will backfire through the intake tubing.. when I hold it to the floor it will just stall completely out like as if you turned the key off and if I let off the gas, it comes back to life but it will die without me giving it gas. When I keep giving about half throttle and letting off it sputters and stalls, and backfires through intake tube.If i feather it lightly and quickly, the highest I can get the rpms to reach is around 4k rpm"s. I havent had it on the road. It does this in park or neutral, but when I put it in gear it wont hardly run and I cant hardly get it to move. I have to feather the gas to keep it from dying and just to move it. I have changed plugs, plug wires, fuel pressure regulator, map sensor, intake air temp sensor, pcv sensor. I am getting ill with it needless to say lol. SOMETIMES, not everytime, but sometimes I unplug the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator and it runs great. My brother moved it while I was at work the other day and did this and burnt the tires off in reverse lol. but it will only run good for a minute or so when we do this, and it only sometimes works. I am baffled by it. Would an egr valve make it do this? what could make this car run like this?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 10-05-2021

Answers :

First things first, have someone check the fuel pressure with a gauge.
The EGR valve is not supposed to be open unless the car is moving at more than 20mph.
