Having problems with your Cars & Trucks ?

I have a 2005 mercury mountaineer which was having battery problems. I was getting a jump after first trying to remove the battery. It finally started after about a half n hr but after it started it went into engine safe mode and limp mode. I then shut it off and took the battery to an auto store and got it checked and said my battery was bad. I replaced the battery but it will not come out of these modes??? Any suggestions?
