Vw golf mk4 brake light switch works but not when fitted

\015 I had a new brake light switch fitted a few weeks ago after a while I could feel and hear it clicking then it stopped working, or so I thought. I've taken it out and tested it and it works fine, I noticed that the tabs where it locks in look chewed. I also noticed after I reinstalled it that the plunger gets stuck when pressed by the brake. I put a little grease on it and it works fine for 5 presses but gets stuck again, the black end cap seems to push away and when I push it back in the plunger pops back out, do I need a new switch or is there a solution? \012\012cheers\012si\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 25-10-2021

Answers :

Next time you fit it adjust the mount that it goes into it may be getting pushed through it rather than just pressing the plunger if you cant adjust the mount try wrapping a cable tie around switch to hold it in place
