Here's what I've found about this P1336 code:
P1336 \012 Crankshaft sensor is out of sync with camshaft \012 sensor test
\012 If \012 you get this code, the first thing to check is your distributor \012 especially if you have an imported vehicle. Look for signs \012 of oil in the distributor which can contaminate the signals \012 being monitored by the ECM (engine computer). Check also \012 the wiring leading to the distributor and see if the wires \012 are properly insulated away from hot exhaust which could \012 burn the wires. Check also on the crank sensor location \012 whether it is located in the front of the engine or at \012 the flywheel at the rear of the engine. The same can be \012 done for the cam sensor.
\012 On \012 engines with distributor, the cam sensor is usually located \012 in the distributor and it will give you a lot of grief \012 if not properly align and synchronize with the crank sensor. \012 On some applications (like Ford), an alignment tool is \012 required which is can be bought from your local parts \012 store (cost about $31). If you install the distributor \012 without proper timing, it will still run but the mileage \012 will suffer and the above code showing up.
Your local trusted mechanic or Ford Dealer should be able to resolve this for you (if you can't) without too much trouble.
