Leaking water pump audi 80 2.6l v6

\015 Hi! I have a 1994 Audi 80 2.6l V6 that has a leaking water pump. I have been given a brand new pump, still boxed, which states that it's for a late model A4. So, can you please tell me if, A. the new pump is compatible with my engine, and B. just how big a job is it to replace?? Thanks\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 12-04-2021

Answers :

No idea if this pump will fit as iam not a dealer fitter but a 1994 model shouldnt be that difficult to fit but only ever seen diesels of this vehicle never a big petrol engine as just not the market here for them with our fuel prices ,our models of this year were rear wheel drive if i remember rightly so if this is as well then changing a water pump requires removal of the radiator and front of the car which again providing my mermory holds up is on a hinge and the front sort of opens like a door allowing access to the engine ,but this was a diesel variant
Grant, you need to check if the pump is ok with your model engine, not just the car model number, these cars were fitted with at least four
different engine variants that i am aware of.
i don't think you should attempt to fit it if you don't know at least that much, sometimes the cambelt has to be removed first, thats a whole
different kind of level of experise required.
good luck
