Having problems with your Buick Park Avenue ?

On start-up it idles at about 8-900 rpm and within 5-10 seconds steadily increases to 1800-2000 rpm and never comes down to a normal idle speed even after it is fully warmed up. I changed the water temp. senser, idle control valve, throttle position switch and mass air unit. The intake gaskets and the supercharger gaskets are not leaking.

Wow this is a brain twister. well first have you scanned the computer to see if there is any codes in it? it sounds like you may have a vacuum leak in one of the vacuum lines or a vacuum solenoid. that maybe gradually opening while warming up and the more it open the more air flow it allowed in. you have to monitor the fuel trim with a computer on bank one and bank 2 and this will help narrow it down. see what bank is on the lean side of things and that is were you have to start. now if they are both even but on the lean side then it is something in common with both banks. could be something not leaking as bad when cold but when it starts to warm up it expands and allows more air to sneak in. see the only thing that controls that idle is the idle air control valve and if you don't have unmetered air coming in (vacuum leak) then you have a computer issue and may never be able to tell without extensive testing with the scanners and multimeters and having all the data where things sould be in front of you.

if you want i can fax you some diagrams if you get to that point to assist you in finding the problem and if you are able to get a scanner that will do live data and look at fuel trim from when it is idling good all the way up to when it is idling high and monitor the iac position on the scanner and relay that info to me i can better help figuring this issue out.

you have replaced all the things that can cause this and assuming they are good even though they are new then this is the only way to figure it out. let me know what you think and i will be glad to help if you need it. good luck
