Having problems with your 1993 Ford Econoline ?

1997 Ford E150 5.4 L vacuum line drawing for heater/air conditioning. Cool air cuts out going up hill.

You have a nylon vacuum line running from the engine intake manifold with a vacuum reservoir tied ino it, that runs through the firewall, usually by the passenger side, and runs to the heater controls. If there is a leak, the system fails to defrost as required by law.
\015\012WHen you are going up a hill, you use up the vacuum and revert to the vacuum storage canister to get you over the hill, when vacuum is restored.
\015\012So, find the leak. The vacuum stoagre canister line has a one way check valve to prevent loss of vacuum on shut down.
\015\012It might be easier to remove the passenger fender for access.
\015\012Also, remove the dog house and you can run a new line from the engine to the canister under the dog house seal.
