REAR DOOR ON 1998 SUZUKI SIDEKICK LOCK STAYS LOCKED AND THE OTHER 4 DOORS HAVE TO BE OPENED AND CLOSED MANUALLY.

Maybe just is necesary an manteinance and lubrication. Lubricate the striker joints with oil or multi-purpose grease.

  1. \015\012Position the lock assembly in the tailgate, then install and tighten the tailgate lock assembly mounting screws securely.\015\012

  3. \015\012Reattach the cylinder lock rod, and the outside tailgate handle rods to the tailgate lock assembly.\015\012

  5. \015\012If necessary, reattach the wiring harness connector to the tailgate lock assembly.\015\012

  7. \015\012Apply a continuous bead of sealant to the inner face of the tailgate, then install the watershield on the tailgate.\015\012

  9. \015\012On Samurai models, position the inner tailgate panel against the inside of the tailgate, then install the retaining screws.\015\012

  11. \015\012On Sidekick and Tracker models, position the inner tailgate panel\015\012against the inside of the tailgate, then insert new plastic retainers\015\012in the panel mounting holes. Engage the retainers by depressing the\015\012retainer center pins until they are flush the rest of the retainer.
