Having problems with your 2000 Ford Crown Victoria ?

The one year old battery in the car is drained after being off for 5 hours or more. Any suggestions as to what is draining it?

THE 1ST THING TO DO IS HAVE THE BASTTERY TESTED, I HAVE REPLACED MANY BATTERIES THAT WERE LESS THAN 1 YEAR OLD FOR THIS PROBEM, MOST OF THEM WERE NOT MOTORCRAFT BRAND, IF THE BATTERY TESTS OK WAIT UNTILL NIGHT TIME AND GO OUT TO THE CAR AND LOOK FOR ANY INTERIOR LIGHTS BEING ON, GLOVE BOX AND VANITY MIRROR LIGHTS ARE A BIG PROBLEM, THE VANITY MIRROR LIGHTS ARE LEFT ON, BUT HAVE THE BATTERY TESTED AS I SAID 1ST.
If you can find a volt - meter, you can remove the battery from the vehicle and check it every hour or so without it being connected to anything, that will rule out the battery itself. With the weather turning cold like it has, there is a chance that the battery has just gone all of a sudden, albeit a slim chance.

If I had to make a suggestion as to the cause at this point, I'd have you check for load at the battery terminals with an ammeter. Something is still "on" and drawing power from the battery.
