Having problems with your 2004 Jaguar X-Type ?

Steering Shake after 60mph

\015 It starts around 60mph and goes away at 80mph.\015\012I replaced the OEM Pirelli's with some Dunlop (Regals) and thats when the problem started. Balance has now been tried in 4 different garages, including Jaguar, and its better. Jaguar tell me that the X-type should always wear the OE tyres, i.e. Pirelli P6, due to sensitivity.\015\012Mine is a AWD model, not sure if that makes a difference.\015\012PS, Jag garage put on temporary front wheels and the problem was still there, but only slightly. Does this suggest a drive-train/Tyre combined problem ?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 30-11-2020

Answers :

Sounds like a loose steering linkage or maybe a wheel bearing
