Having problems with your Chevrolet C1500 ?

I have a 1978 Chevy k-10 and the ignition switch in the column wouldn't turn off. We bought a new ignition switch and the old one will not come out of the column. There is no retaining screw holding it in place. What do I need to do?

Answers :

It sounds as though you are talking about key tumbler in column and if you are then stick key in and turn back to acc. position should come out. if it is ignition switch on top of column then turn key until dash lughts come on. and remoce switch.
